The Teacher

My name's Alex and I've recently moved to Bute from the South of England. I've been teaching Tai Chi for over 13 years running public classes and private tuition for individuals, health clubs, community groups, schools and organisations across all sectors.

I love the island and as well as the more conventional indoor classes I think that it provides an ideal setting for teaching outdoors, so am currently exploring locations to do both in-person sessions and broadcasting live using Zoom. I'm also consulting with the community and landowners on the island to get feedback on what might work, agreeing suitable locations and trying out time slots.

As well as providing sessions for those that live and work on the Isle of Bute, I also offer sessions for visitors and am open to working in partnership with the hospitality, leisure and tourism sectors to do this.

My outdoor sessions provide residents and visitors with a new way to experience the island and its abundance of tranquility, natural beauty and wildlife. Even if many people will only initially practice indoors, once they feel confident enough to practise outdoors, people will develop a deeper connection to nature and a stronger feeling of harmony with their surroundings.

If you're interested in working with me, please get in touch. I'd really like to hear from you!
